We’re Expanding: Mind-Body-Spirit Healing for Women

Ever since I started Groove in 2013, the mission has always been to arm women with information that they can use to be their own expert and advocate. I want to live in a world where we trust our bodies, are tapped into our intuitive gifts, fully and unconditionally love ourselves, and recognize the unparalleled strength of our feminine superpowers — vulnerability, empathy, listening, holding space, intuition, complex problem-solving…the list goes on!

My own self-love journey began, unsurprisingly, with learning about the immense complexities and intelligence contained within the female reproductive system. Periods literally ignited the spark that would later become an undying flame of self-acceptance and self-love.

I didn’t realize it back then, but Groove was just getting started…

Between 2013 and 2020, I was quietly walking an intense journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and healing. Facing a lifetime of trauma and conditioned self-loathing, unraveling toxic and codependent relationship patterns, taking an honest look at my Shadow qualities and inner child wounding and where they stemmed from, questioning social norms that were (successfully) trying to make me believe that I wasn’t beautiful and wonderful exactly the way I was.

It was a time of unlearning everything I ever thought I knew about myself. On the surface, I was a successful entrepreneur with an amazing life. But, underneath, I was incredibly unhappy and unfulfilled.

During that time, I experienced multiple failed relationships, intense heartbreak, crushing relationship infidelity, addiction, depression. It was, by far, the most painful time in my life.

But through that pain, I was led to get certified as a trauma-informed yoga teacher, explored and learned countless trauma healing modalities, learned to facilitate Breathwork, learned Shadow Work and Inner Child healing, learned energy healing, was mentored in traditional healing methods by a Native American Shaman, and much more. Without realizing it, I was setting the stage for the next step in both my own evolution and the evolution of Groove.

From reproductive health to comprehensive mind-body-spirit healing

Groove helped me discover who I am: a healer, a medicine woman. I was put on this earth to support women on their journey towards healing, wholeness, and self-love.

If I’ve learned anything over the last decade of Groove’s existence — and my own healing journey — it’s that there’s no singular pathway to wholeness. Healing comes from within, and nobody else can do the work for us. These days, there are few things I can say that I know for sure. Here is one of the very few:

We were each born whole. Our truest nature is that of self-love. But who we are at our core has gotten obscured, hidden, suppressed, and buried by a lifetime of trauma, bullshit, and conditioning — from society, parents, teachers, friends, and corporations. And it is possible to find our way back there…to rediscover who we really are.

That is what Groove’s expansion is all about: supporting you in awakening your inner healing, your inner wholeness. We will now be offering educational resources about periods and reproductive health, but also about breath work, shadow work, yoga, and trauma healing, among others.

Our no-bullshit, no gimmicks promise:

Over the last decade, I’ve helped build and sell multiple tech companies. I’ve watched social media startups turn into (mammoth) shells of what the founders initially wanted them to be. I’ve seen good intentions turn sour as soon as companies take on investment and suddenly have a “duty” to their stakeholders to increase revenue…at nearly any cost. I’ve witnessed the inner-workings of the corporate, capitalism machine that puts money before people. I’ve observed as other women’s health companies were taken over by “more experienced” CEOs and stripped of their original mission.

And I will never put Groove onto that path. I will never sacrifice doing the right thing and living by my values to make money. I will never try to manipulate the people that Groove serves so that I can get likes or clicks or a few bucks. I will never sell the data of the people who turn to Groove for help.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your years of support.
